RCT of the Ness L300 compared with a splint
Wed 7th Jul, 2010
A study comparing the L300 and AFO splints with 20 people who had a stroke. While no differences in walking performance were measured participants preferred walking with FES stating that it improved the stability of the effected side in weight bearing. (quite a high incidence of skin reaction, effecting 20% of participants. In an 18 week study of 23 participants who had MS, no skin reaction was recorded Barrett et al. 2009.)
