Clinical results of a preliminary investigation into the use of two channel stimulation to improve the quality of walking of patients with established hemiplegia (Conference abstract)

Mon 1st Jan, 2001

The Compustim 2B was a predecessor to the O2CHS FES device.  This paper describes initial experience of its use to stimulate common peroneal nerve with either hamstrings, calf or triceps muscles and bilateral drop foot.  Use of the device produced significant improvements in walking speed and reductions in physiological cost index (PCI) in stroke patients.
