What does the treatment involve?

Procedures will vary depending on your condition
but a typical procedure is as follows:

You will first attend a initial assessment clinic to assess your
suitability for the ODFS. At this appointment a physical examination
will be made and the ODFS tried.

Providing suitability, you will then be asked to attend again on two
consecutive days to learn how to use the device. You will then be
asked to return to the clinic for follow up assessments at;

6 weeks,
3 months,
and then at 6 monthly intervals or yearly if appropriate.

The clinic sessions normally take about one hour.

There are further treatments available if there are more complex requirements
or if there is a need for an exercise programme for the upper or lower limb
